Wonder Why Liberals Can't Win Lately?

It's because of whiny, self-righteous assholes like this.

I'd like to see some service members family group demand this clown be fired from NPR.

Reading just the quote, I would tend to agree with you. But after listening to the piece I think he makes a good point.

He and his wife have put significant effort and money toward supporting their son and his unit. Putting a yellow ribbon on your car really only tells everyone how you feel -- and in context isn't doing squat to support the troops.

If there is a reason the "liberals can't win lately" it's because they don't have a huge pack of fundamentalist lemmings in their back pocket.

And, last I checked -- Gregoire is still a liberal and still Governor. I'd call that a win. ;)

Gregoire is still Governor for now.

Forget about "fundamentalist lemmings". I don't personally know anyone who fits that description but I know a lot of people who voted for Bush.

It's the fact that the tables have turned the past 10 years - the Republicans have become more inclusive (like tolerance for pro-choicers and gay conservatives) while the Democrats have become more out of the mainstream and less tolerate of internal dissent from the progressive viewpoint.

Folks like Howard Dean don't know this but people like Hillary Clinton does, which is why she's screaming towards the middle in her public remarks ... she knows there is no way in hell this country will elect a liberal ideologue.

You folks have to stop looking for how the Republicans "cheated" and start looking at what's causing the wheels to fall off your party.

They "cheated" in Texas the same way Democrats "cheated" there in the past when it was a Democratic controlled legislature. What's good for the goose...

When was it exactly that Texas Democrats redrew ditricts along political lines ensuring a significant increase in federal representation?
