Gregoire still not Governor

Michelle Malkin points out that statistical analysis of bogus or improper votes indicate a Rossi win.

Personally, I think there are more than enough shenanigans uncovered that this election should be overturned and re-run. State law dictates that all that has to be proven is that there were enough questionable ballots to call an election result into question - the Washington Democrats have been trying to spin this to indicate enough votes going from Gregoire to Rossi must be proven....but that's not the case.

I think it's a slam dunk that the Chelan judge is going to do something about this, Dem spin nonwithstanding.

Fair enough. As long as we can use the same yardstick for measuring shenanigans in the Florida 2000 Presidential Election.

I just recently watched a documentary that has several unrefuted instances where legitimate voters were not allowed to vote, and the recount process was improperly influenced. It also included the independent findings related to Database Technology Inc, and the ever broadening rules they were told to follow for creating the list of felons.

The documentary also includes video footage of several people forcing their way into the recount room -- screaming that the process was unfair and they were not being represented. Each member in the video can be positively identified as Republican Party aids and staffers which were flown in from all over the country.

Of course its old news, and us whining Liberals should get over it.

But if that’s the case, so should you.

The 2000 debacle in Florida is not a good equivalency. Sauce, indeed, Garrett....jeez.

Yes, there were felons who's voting rights were restored that were mistakenly not allowed to vote. On the flip side, I'm sure that there were some that voted who shouldn't have.

And I remember the incident where a bunch of Bush supporters burst into an elections office in Miami-Dade County. Now I don't know what context your "documentary" put that into, but I clearly recall that it was a protest out of frustration against the whole mess. It was a situation that was defused rather rapidly and calmly.

The biggest issue in Florida was "hanging chads" and how they were interpreted. Say all you will about legitimate voters not counted (how many? I think in the low hundreds); however, there were - as I recall - over 1,700 military absentee ballots that weren't counted either.

My main point is that all of these factors balanced out and you have to get really conspiratorial to make a case that the election would have gone to Gore in Florida in 2000. Many, many media outlets - some quite liberal - held their own recounts and none came to the conclusion that Gore should have won.

On the other hand the 2004 Washington election, at least in King County, was an absolute joke in almost every single category. How many times were new batches of ballots "discovered"? At least 7, not including the 93 military absentee ballots they recently "discovered". Also, hundreds of felons voted who shouldn't have; hundreds of provisional ballots were processed without the check required by State law; the Elections department cannot add their tallys to match; Dean Logan has out-and-out lied on election issues on numerous occasions.

So it is beyond the realm of possibility that the 2004 election was spoiled - it is a near certainty - according to the standards described by State election laws.

In no way is this equivalent to Florida where the left fought like hell to change and/or subvert the legal election process and even when they got the additional recounts, and the State withheld certification for some time, et al, they STILL didn't win.

Nope, I'm not suggesting that all the uncounted votes are for Rossi. And when this recount stuff was going on, the GOP was screaming bloody murder at these "found" batches of ballots.

Apparently, when Logan was deposed yesterday, even he had to admit that there is uncertainty about who actually won the election.
