Hillary in '08? "No Way", says Joe Klein

Joe Klein, author of Primary Colors and a former deep insider with the Clintons, talks about Hillary's chances in 2008. Very insightful.

I think he nails it on one point:

In '08 people are going to be sick and tired of anyone named Clinton or Bush (Hillary or Jeb).

Plus, there are storm clouds on the horizon for Hillary with the campaign finance trial in LA.

I think whoever wins in '08 will be a true, soft-spoken moderate...with the possible exception of John McCain.

This is what's so funny about all of the over-the-top statements Dem politicians are making....it's fodder for the "extremist" label in '08. You only have a few GOPs making the same type of asses of themselves and they were never really in the running (DeLay, Lott).

I would love to see Ron Paul (R-Tx) be the GOP nominee but it would never happen. Look at his voting record and tell me this guy isn't principled.

Can you guys name me a Democratic moderate who has a long-track record as being flexible and not party-driven? The only one I can think of is Bill Richardson and he has that DoE scandal hanging over his head, unfortunately.
