In Karl Rove's world, the base is sacred, and nukes were the key to their support. Joe Wilson threatened to open a crack in that support, and that's why he had to be destroyed.

Joe Wilson was useless and not even knowledgeable on the topic he was supposed to be investigating. He destroyed himself.
Carl, what grounds do you have for judging Wilson's competence? I'd like to evaluate them myself, if you have information I don't.
