You've probably heard of the phony controversy of Rush Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" comment in which he was talking about people falsely pretending to be soldiers to speak against the war, i.e., not real soldiers but phony ones. Some reason, anti-war vets like Jon Soltz (last seen shouting down a man in uniform speaking in favor of his mission) assumed Rush was talking about him, which is somewhat psychologically revealing. It's like how no one actually questions John Kerry's patriotism but he kept assuming everyone was.
Anyway, I find it interesting that with there being millions of men and women in both active and reserves, liberals still feel the need to use made up soldiers like Jesse Macbeth to find enough vets to speak out against the Iraq war. I think that's because most real Americans don't want to have anything to do with the Kwazy Kos Krowd. Also, with all their blatant disdain for the troops, it seems you'd have to be a bit self-loathing to be both in the military and associated with those freaks.

first misleading assumption - nobody knew that guy was made up at first. And there are plenty of soldiers who are speaking out, so what's your point?
third lie - calling those who support the war "freaks". That's in conjunction with the
fourth and biggest lie: you disdain the troops if you're against the war. YOU CAN BE AGAINST THE WAR AND STILL SUPPORT THE TROOPS! WHICH SIDE LEFT THE TROOPS WITHOUT ENOUGH GEAR? WHICH SIDE VETOED THE LARGER OF TWO SMALL RAISES FOR THE TROOPS? THE REPUBLICANS! WHICH SIDE CARES ENOUGH ABOUT THE RAVAGES OF THIS FRIGGIN' WAR TO WANT TO BRING THE TROOPS HOME?
You have GOT to stop watching Faux News. You have got to start listening to Thom Hartmann every day. Every day in his first hour he has someone on who is pushing a book or something from the reich side. Every day he has reasoned discussions with these people - unlike the yelling and screaming on Faux News where you won't ever see Thom or anyone else like him because they use reason and facts to destroy the talking points.
Why is it that you will NEVER get on to Rush's or Bill's or most reich-wing radio shows if you disagree with them? If you do manage to get to the air you'll get cut off immediately. Wonder why? Free speech, my a$$. With Ed or Thom or most lefty shows, they invite the dissenters. Heck, if you disagree with Thom your call goes to the top of the queue!

I can't answer how Rush and the others run their shows but for them I suppose it's marketing and not fair and balanced necessarily.
I wouldn't mind listening to Ed or Thom if I could find them but apparently they don't appeal to enough folks to be found on my radio dial. Or too many other radio markets.

How many times have I pointed to proof that ratings have nothing to do with it? Right-wing business buys the stations that plays progressive radio, kicks it off, puts on right-wing talk and the ratings tank. Other owners who openly admit it has nothing to do with interest or ratings - they just don't want people to hear this perspective. It's all over the place but you keep believing the lies.
I'm still waiting for you to point out examples of MM lies, distortions or out of contexts. If there were any, I'm sure your side would have posted them. So point me to 'em.
I have pointed out MM's distortions many times, you just refuse to believe it. Why should I waste my time if you're not going to consider what I find?
Can you cite one credible news story about a station switching from progressive talk to conservative talk and then tanking for no other reason?
And as to owners wanting to deny a voice for non-economic reasons is lunacy. Maybe somebody, somewhere has done it but it doesn't make sense. Again, can you point to a report on that?
Again, Susie, you have this propensity to post comments that are lunatic fringe and I would like to start seeing evidence of these assertions that don't come from yet another lunatic.
