Air America in the Ratings Tank

You can't scream at everyone and call everyone who disagrees with you a "liar" and get good ratings, as AA is demonstrating.

(Update)

Her, that's interesting! Air America sucks in the ratings HERE as well!

Hmmm....But if you look at other talk shows that started about the same time as Air America, such as Tony Snow, you'll see they have really good ratings...there's a website that shows the most popular talk hosts; I'll find it and post a link.

BTW, if AirAmerica continues to pull crap like Randi Rhodes did Monday, no wonder they turn people off (see DrudgeReport for more info).

Would you just stop with the "lies! lies! lies!" garbage? It loses it's effectiveness if overused.

I'm not sure I agree with the comments you posted (Have a link? I'd like to read the whole thing). A talk radio does not have to throw out their whole format to cary a progressive host.

For example, KVI had Alan Colmes on from 6 to 8 PM weeknights for quite some time (now Brian Suits has returned from Army duty in Iraq and resumed his slot).

And Neil Bortz is very popular and no hardline conservative; he's libertarian and advocates legalized pot, et al.

And certainly no one would consider Howard Stern a conservative and he's extraordinarily popular in the AM drive slot.

So I think that argument has a bit of a bovine excrement whiff to it.

Besides, how serious can one take Air America when they just added Jerry eff-ing Springer to the lineup???

The Randi Rhodes show screwed up bigtime. Everyone knows you can't threaten or even suggest threatening the President.

At minimum they should be taken of the air for 30 days. They crossed a line that was obvious and they did it with intent. And Rhandi claims it's not her fault, someone else put the bit together -- another bad move. It's called the Rhandi Rhodes show, if you don't know what is being done in your name take 30 days off and get some accountability in place.

Of course from a volume perspective, there is certainly more vitriolic crap coming out of Ann Colture -- but she never crossed this line. (She did however say that the fact that Gore served in Vietnam was enough justification for friendly fire... which is as close to overstepping as you can get) -- but RR really blew it.

As for Springer, I certainly the Progressive movement can do better and soon – or we’ll loose a valuable resource.

I think AC crosses many lines, (for example) just not threatening (or pretending to) the president.

It was a really stupid move, made with intent. You know the "isn't this illegal" question was asked at some point.

They should have gone after Rove... no laws broken there.
