Fort Dix, Redux

Here's the official criminal complaint.

Notice a couple of things?

Page 8, Opening statement to Attachment B. The agent specifically says that "I have not necessarily included each and every fact known by the government concerning this investigation." So how would any blogger know precisely what investigative techniques were used except those used to obtain the complaint?

Page 18, number 39. FBI obtains and uses a cell phone call log. That was one of the complaints when the Dems cried about wiretapping; the obtaining of call logs without a warrant.

In closing, it's so nice when leftists post propaganda for political purposes while deliberately obfuscating or ignoring the facts. I would say nice try, but using an important event like the thwarting of a terror plot and then lying about it for political brownie points makes me more want to barf on you folks.

Update: I think the really important thing here is to give credit where credit is due. The FBI did a great job pursuing this case and deserves high praise for their professionalism.

"Law enforcement officers also reviewed CW-1's call log on CW-1's cell phone..."

Yeah, yeah....I saw that on the re-read.

Still, why do left-wing assbites like Kos and the like trumpet this as a repudiation of the Patriot Act while right-wing loons see this as evidence that Dems are soft on terrorism?

I don't want to see any counterterrorist activities politicized. That's stupid - I don't want a law enforcement official in the field making decisions on the basis of political fallout.

No: they should be making their decisions on the basis of what is legal. Breaking the law makes us as bad as those we fight.

And Bush claims that we needed not only the PATRIOT Act, but violations of the PATRIOT Act to keep us safe. To arrest real plotters, it just took good old detective work.

Is it me or does this whole Fort Dix thing smell fishy? They are making some video clerk out to be a hero. But one has to wonder why folks like these supposedly planning a clandestine attack would be so careless as to bring an incriminating video tape to a public store? How hard is it to make a DVD from a Video these days -- not very!

Nothing makes sense! So I'm beginning to think that this whole thing is nothing more than a fabricated news story (i.e., Wag the Dog) and the culprits are being setup here.
