Kakistocracy - a REAL word! :-)

I learned a great new word to be applied to the Bush Administration: kakistocracy. It was apparently one of the Scripps Spelling Bee words, although I can't corroborate that.

Kakistocracy is, according to Encarta ("government by the most unscrupulous or unsuitable people, or a state governed by such people") and Wikipedia, ("rule by the least-able or least-principled of citizens...a form of government in which the people least qualified to control the government are the people who control the government.")

Can't think of a better description of the current state of affairs.

It's posts like this that give meaning to the phrase "politics is a spectator sport".

To the Democrats, every single GOP President is unscrupulous, clueless, and/or stupid.

To the Republicans, every single Democratic President is morally challenged and/or blindly idealistic.

The sport is that it's never true in either case so you end up with GOP Presidents running rings around Democrats because he's at least as smart as they are and you have Democratic Presidents pasted with BS scandals that, when it all bolis down to it, no one cares about.

Take a step back and ponder that. Now, who buys the beer and hotdogs? :-D
