If Fred Thompson does get in I hope this information is plastered all over the place. He'd be Nixon->Bush all over again. WE CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER SLEEZE LIKE THIS!
Not all would put a heroic sheen on Thompson's Watergate role

I don't see where he did anything wrong. He didn't want to believe that Nixon was a crook and acted accordingly. Later, he was upfront about what actions he took and admitted that his first impressions were wrong.
This makes him a sleaze? Which, by the way, you misspelled.
Suzie, you truly are a partisan hag.
Thanks for the spelling correction. He is a sleaze - he was a lobbyist for 20 years. And his son is a lobbyist now. Like I trust ANY politician not to help his friends and family.
And as for calling me a hag, you are officially UNinvited to my birthday party.
"He didn't want to believe that Nixon was a crook and acted accordingly."
Are you kidding? Do you really think this guy was that naive? I sure hope not especially given the position he was in at the time.
Now, Freddie seems to be doing a tailspin on some lobbying he did in the 80s for a pro-abortion group. Maybe he does have a bad memory or the ever-popular Republican "selective memory", but I guess that is par for the course with these guys.
Yeah, I think he was that naive. As to the lobbying - you can look at the bright side that Thompson is willing to consider all sides.
